FAQTechnical & Profiles

Why is there only one Number of side LEDs setting for all my devices?

Number of side LEDs (per side) lives on Telemetry > Configuration and describes the LEDs either side of the centre RPM strip, so 3 for an X-10-X layout.

There is deliberately only one of this setting, and every DNR RPM profile on your rig reads it. That means it can only ever suit one device. If you load the RPM profile onto two devices with different layouts, both read the same number and one of them will be wrong.

The answer is to run the RPM profile on one device only, and load Co-Pilot on your other LED devices. Co-Pilot has its own start position and its own LED count, so the two never compete.

If your device has no side LEDs at all, the plugin says "No side LEDs configured" against the settings that depend on them, which is expected rather than a fault.

Counting LEDs correctly is the thing people get wrong most often. The side count is the LEDs on one side only, not both, and it excludes the centre strip.
