What is the Flag Box Profile? Do I need the 8x8 file or the MLD file?

Since plugin 7.1 there is one flag box download, Daniel Newman Racing - Flag Box Profile, and it is the same file whether you own an 8x8 matrix flag box, a SimRep Multi LED Display, or both. The 8 X 8 Matrix Flag Box and the SimRep MLD products on Downloads both give you this file.

One file, two profiles inside it. The Flag Box Profile carries both the 8x8 flag box profile and the MLD profile. The plugin looks at the device the file lands on and puts the right one there: an 8x8 panel, which SimHub drives as a matrix, gets the 8x8 profile; a SimRep Multi LED Display, which SimHub lists as an MLD and drives as a strip, gets the MLD profile. There is nothing to choose.

Installing it from the plugin does this straight away: LED Devices, MANAGE on Flag Boxes, Install this profile. Importing it by hand in SimHub works too: put the file on the flag box or MLD device with Import profile, and the plugin swaps it for the right profile within a few seconds while SimHub is running, or on the next start. The name in SimHub's profile list changes to the 8x8 or the MLD profile, which is the sign it has happened. Put it only on a flag box or MLD device: on a wheel or a button box it lights nothing.

Where each one goes in SimHub. A home built 8x8 panel sits under Arduino > RGB Matrix; a branded one under the device its maker's SimHub definition adds. An MLD appears in SimHub's own device list as a SimRep device. Then on Daniel Newman Racing > Flag Boxes, the Configuration tab, say how many of each you run and tell the plugin which device each one is.

If you already had the 8x8 or MLD profile installed, nothing changes for you: the profile on your device is the same one, and it keeps updating itself. Flag boxes and Multi LED Displays are included from Team Driver up.
