What is Race Academy?
Race Academy is the learning side of DNR. It records your laps so you can study them, and lets you study laps other drivers have shared, so you can see where the time actually is rather than guessing.
What goes with a shared lap:
- Your lap trace, your sector splits, and the conditions it was set in
- Tyre pressures, temperatures and wear, and your driver aid settings
That second line is the part that makes a shared lap useful. A lap time on its own tells you somebody was quicker. A lap with their aids and tyre state tells you whether it is a lap you could actually copy.
Recording is controlled on Daniel Newman Racing > Race Academy Settings. You can record every lap of the session rather than only your fastest, which is worth doing when you are working on one corner.
Race Academy and Track Rivals answer different questions. Track Rivals is competition, corner by corner against your community. Race Academy is study, one lap at a time against the detail of how it was driven.
