How do the ERS and KERS LED effects work?
The Energy Recovery System effects live on the Effects tab of the Telemetry and Eyebrows pages.
- ERS Mode shows the current energy mode in the peripheral LED segment, such as Attack or Balance.
- ERS Deploy shows the deploy mode.
- ERS State of Charge shows how much energy you have left. On eyebrows this can be drawn as a linear gauge, with an IndyCar option that uses a separate deploy colour.
- ERS Regen shows the regeneration mode.
- KERS / ERS Lap Deploy Limit covers KERS on F1 cars from 2009 to 2013, and represents the lap deploy limit on modern F1 cars.
ERS mode colours are set once in Universal ERS Mode Settings so they mean the same thing on every device. Each mode has its own colour: No Deploy, Low, Medium/Balanced, High/Hotlap/Attack, Max/Overtake/Qualify, Charging/Build and Wet/Rain.
A wheel button can also be set to the ERS Mode effect so a single button shows the current mode.
How much of this appears depends on the car and the sim, since a car with no hybrid system reports no ERS data.
